If you’re thinking of renovating your bathroom, you also need to think of getting it a proper ventilation system to prevent mold and mildew from forming in the room. This will help your bathroom look good and be a place that is simply relaxing and healthy to be in.
Unfortunately bathroom is a room where humidity and heat creates mold and mildew very easily. These in turn will create health problems such as allergy and will damage various areas of the bathroom including doors, windows, ceiling and walls. This is why an important aspect of having a good and healthy bathroom is installing a vent fan if you don’t already have on installed. There are still many homes around that have no ventilation system installed and even some that have a window so they say they don’t need a vent system. An important aspect of bathroom ventilation fans is proper venting. Avoid venting the bathroom into the attic as this simply pushes the moisture into that closed space. You need to have the ventilators vent to the outside directly so the moisture goes out into the open space.
You should have the bathroom exhaust fans close to the shower or bath tub. Also the doors should be undercut by at least 1″ so that return air can enter the room easily. After you have used the bathroom, the ventilation should be on for another 20 minutes or so in order to properly ventilate the room. If you have a timer, it’s even easier as you can simply set the time to turn off the vent when the time is right.
Whatever you do, make sure that you install a proper ventilation system in your bathroom, such as are the Panasonic ventilation fans. You can use any other brand, but make sure it is from a reputable seller and it’s a good brand, made by a serious manufacturer. Vent fans should last you for a long time so you need some quality equipment here.
